8.2.2 Water Quality
The quality of the source water determines:
  • Whether it is suitable for use as irrigation water,
  • Whether it can be used without treatment for preparing nutrient solutions in open or closed hydroponic systems,
  • Whether and with what effort it must be treated to meet the operational requirements.

Water Hardness
Water hardness is a measure used to assess the suitability of water for washing processes. Therefore, it actually has nothing to do with the suitability of water for irrigating plants
